I remain LP member, says Obi amid ‘Obidients directorate’ controversy

Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 elections, says he remains committed to the party.

On Wednesday, Obi criticised the decision of the party to appoint directors to coordinate the registration of all members of the ‘Obedient’ community and “integrate them fully into the structure of the party”.He said the “Obidient movement” is not a directorate of any political party.

The party subsequently announced that it has renamed the “Obidient directorate” to the directorate of mobilisation and integration.
