Mozambican Pastor Dies Attempting to Recreate Jesus’ 40-Day Fast

A pastor in Mozambique, Francisco Barajah, has died after attempting to fast for 40 days like Jesus was said to have done after his baptism, according to a report shared on Thursday.
He was said to have lost a lot of weight to the point where he could not stand up, bathe or walk, and efforts to help him regain his health waned. His relatives and church members took him to the hospital for treatment as his condition kept deteriorating. Meanwhile, Nigerians on social media have reacted to the development, with many people condemning the cleric. In his reaction, Min E Isaac wrote: "The fasting of Jesus Christ was not ordinary fasting. Jesus was led by the holy spirit, and the spirit was what empowered him, that was why he succeeded."
