Nigeria mum, 36, charged with murdering boy, four, at home in Plumstead


A MUM has been charged with murdering her four-year-old son in London.

Oluwakemi Badare, 36, was held after Kingswealth Bayode was discovered "lifeless" in Plumstead on Sunday morning.

Today her case was heard at the Old Bailey, as she was charged with murder.The court was told Badare is the boy's mother after she was previously not named.

She did not appear in person or remotely for the short hearing, although her lawyer was present.

Badare was remanded in custody ahead of a plea hearing on March 17 next year.

Emergency crews were scrambled to the home on Sunday just before 8am to a report of the death of a child.

They discovered the youngster lifeless at the scene.

The woman was arrested and taken to custody before later being charged with murder.

She appeared at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Monday where she was remanded in custody.

A post mortem will be held tomorrow to establish a cause of death.
