Car crash A man is fighting for his life following a three car crash that has closed the Rotherhithe Tunnel.
The road remains shut after the smash which happened just after 2am.
Police said a man, thought to be in his 30s, is in hospital fighting for his life following the collision.
A picture released by Transport for London shows debris and wrecked cars strewn across the road.Commuters in east London face extra traffic on both sides of the river with the tunnel shut in both directions.
A tweet from the TfL Traffic News Twitter account said: "Rotherhithe Tunnel (Both Directions) - Closed due to a collision. Use alternative routes."
