John Boyega and Daisy Ridley lead red carpet at Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker premiere as JJ Abrams pays tribute to Carrie Fisher


Star Wars director JJ Abrams has paid tribute to the late Carrie Fisher and said it was "heartbreaking" shooting the latest film without her.

Abrams, has included archived footage of the actress in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, which was taken from previous film The Force Awakens.

Fisher, who played Princess and General Leia, died in 2016 after suffering a cardiac arrest.

His tribute came as Daisy Ridley and John Boyega were among the stars to hit the red carpet at the premiere in London on Wednesday evening.
