Salah could miss Man United clash through injury - it would be a huge blow

Liverpool FC v Leicester City - Premier League

Mohamed Salah’s potential absence against Manchester United would be a huge blow, should he not recover in time from injury.

The Egyptian suffered an ankle injury late on at home to Leicester City on Saturday, following a bad tackle by Hamza Choudhury.

Jurgen Klopp was left fuming and Salah was seen hobbling out of Anfield after the game.

The Daily Mail‘s Dominic King has taken to Twitter to confirm that Salah has twisted his ankle and could be set to miss the United clash on October 20th:

“Update on Mohamed Salah: he has twisted his ankle and had a scan.”

“The injury is not too serious; he will have treatment through the international break, too early to say if he is a doubt for Manchester United game.”

While Salah has been the least effective of Liverpool’s world class front-three this season, he is still a hugely important figure.

The Reds always seem to struggle at Old Trafford, regardless of the form guide, and having all their key men available is vital.

On the flip side, it is positive news that Salah’s absence doesn’t look like being long-term.

He will hopefully work his way back to full fitness during the international break and be available to wreak havoc against United.

With Liverpool opening up an eight-point lead over Manchester City, these next few weeks are going to be massive in the Premier League title race.

A victory at Old Trafford, hopefully with Salah playing a starring role, would be another big moment.
