Father charged with homicide after he 'beat and stomped man to death when he tried to get into his 16-year-old daughter's QuikTrip bathroom stall'

Melvin Harris (left), 40, has been charged with second-degree murder in the beating death of Leon Armstrong (inset). Armstrong had tried to barge in to a convenience store restroom as Harris' daughter was inside on August 2. Harris raised concerns with store security but later confronted Armstrong as he left the store, allegedly punching him in the face. Armstrong died in a Phoenix hospital as a result of brain injuries five days after the attack. Harris' fiance, Diana Jackson, has defending the dad, arguing that he was merely protecting their daughter
