A man has been stabbed as crowds dispersed from the second day and final day of the at Notting Hill Carnival tonight.
The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries after he was attacked at 8.10pm as 240 people were arrested on Bank Holiday Monday at the biggest street festival in the world.
Over the weekend a total of 373 people were arrested and 49 blades were seized as police implemented new stop and search powers and rolled out the use of 'knife arches' at the event for the first time in its history to clamp down on the amount of weapons being sneaked in.
It comes as Iain Duncan Smith demanded police should dramatically increase the use of stop and search to combat spiralling gang crime in the capital.
Pressure has mounted on London mayor Sadiq Khan after the number of killings in the city topped 100 last week.
Despite the huge police presence, brazen festival-goers were pictured openly taking drugs in front of officers as they partied in the streets of west London for the second day in a row.
