The United bid won 67 per cent of the votes, with Morocco securing 33 per cent
US last hosted it in 1994 while Mexico hosted the tournament in 1970 and 1986
Canada has never hosted men's World Cup but held the women's version in 2015
After this year's tournament in Russia, the World Cup will head to Qatar in 2022
North America will host the 2026 World Cup after FIFA voters overwhelmingly opted for the financial and logistical certainty of a United States-led bid over a risky Moroccan proposal for the first 48-team tournament.
