Poignant moment Korean athletes from North and South parade as one team during historic - and spectacular - opening ceremony of Pyeongchang Winter Olympics
North and South Korea marched into the opening ceremony of the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics as one after the heads of both states had earlier shared an historic handshake (inset left). Athletes from both nations entered the main stadium at the same time, waving white and blue unity flags depicting a united peninsula. They followed Team GB (main) who were led out by Lizzy Yarnold, who won gold in the women's skeleton at the 2014 games. The opening ceremony was themed around unity as five children set out on a quest to find peace, accompanied by a spectacular fireworks and lights show (inset right) that ended with four Korean pop stars singing John Lenon's Imagine.
