Mother is left horrified after her three-year-old son was able to wander out of nursery and walk 10 minutes home along a busy road without staff noticing he was missing

Liam Radcliffe (pictured inset left with his mother), 3, walked himself home along a busy road after leaving the Barassie early years nursery in Ayrshire, Scotland (shown on map). Staff had not realised he was missing by the time his mother, Sarra, had brought him back. Ms Reid said: 'I had expected to see a search going on for him. But when I walked in with him, the staff just looked perplexed. It was then that it dawned on me that they did not know he was missing. I was absolutely horrified.'
