African American speed skater BOYCOTTS the Winter Olympics opening ceremony in 'race row' after luger beat him in 'dishonorable' coin toss to lead out Team USA

Erin Hamlin has led TeamUSA out for the Winter Olympics opening ceremony in Pyeongchang after being named as flag carrier ahead of Shani Davis, who boycotted the ceremony. Hamlin, a four-time Olympian and winner of a luge bronze medal at the 2014 Sochi games, beamed a broad smile as she led out the athletes competing at the games in South Korea. She was chosen in a coin toss with speed skater Shani Davis (pictured inset), one of just a few black athletes in TeamUSA. He angrily tweeted that TeamUSA had 'dishonorably' chosen to toss a coin rather than select him to carry the Stars and Stripes. TeamUSA confirmed Davis had not attended the ceremony but said he would only have done so had he been able to carry the flag
