Model Sarah MacDonnell, was in Cape Town for a yoga wear shoot when a machete-wielding gang attacked her and her colleagues at their £870-a-night luxury villa. The masked gang grabbed her boyfriend when he went outside for a cigarette, bound his wrists with an iPhone cable and forced him into the villa. Sarah said that she was on the loo when the gang burst in and put a knife to her throat. She said that she did not think they would survive the ordeal.
