Horror as 'completely innocent' mother-of-six, 42, and her friend are gunned down in front of a house full of children leaving a baby among the injured
A mother of six and her friend - both described as 'completely innocent' by security sources - were gunned down in a 'barbaric' attack on a family home in Dublin yesterday.(pictured, the crime scene main, top right and bottom right) The man believed to be the killers' target was holding a baby in his arms when they burst into the house filled with children and started firing. Antoinette Devoy,(top left) a mother in her 40s with special needs, and her friend, named locally as Clint Sheridan, were shot dead by the gunmen, armed with a mini-sub-machinegun and a handgun. The baby and two others, including a teenager, were injured in the broad-daylight attack in a north Dublin estate. Ms Byrne told the Mail that when she heard the babies screaming, she ran to the house. The man who is believed to be the intended target, Derek Devoy,(bottom left) brought his baby inside to safety, 'into the arms of his sister' before escaping over a back wall.
