President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump are taking in the splendor of Bastille Day, a national holiday celebrating France's independence, this morning in Paris.

The US president and his wife are sitting front and center in a VIP reviewing stand below the Luxor Obelisk in Place de la Concorde with the president and first lady of France, Emmanuel and Brigitte Macron.

A procession led by American troops in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the United States' entry into WWI is underway.

Brigitte Macron greeted the Trumps as her husband rode down the Champs-Elysees in a military jeep to make his own, grand entrance at the spectacle.

Donald Trump gave her a kiss on the cheek as he exited his presidential limo.

In the reviewing stand he was seated to the right of her husband, several seats down from the first lady of France, whose physique he'd complimented on Thursday in an awkward exchange that was captured on a Facebook livestream.

'You're in such good shape,' he told the 64-year-old, who's seven years junior to him.
