Andy Murray and Johanna Konta become the first British male and female pairing to make the Wimbledon quarter finals since Roger Taylor and Virginia Wade in 1973

Johanna Konta and Andy Murray have reached the final eight at Wimbledon, the first time a British man and woman have made the quarter-finals in 44 years. Konta became the first British woman into the Wimbledon quarter-finals since Jo Durie in 1984 after a thrilling victory on 'Mega Monday'.
World number one and fellow Briton Andy Murray then followed suit, becoming only the third man to record 10 straight quarter-final appearances at a grand slam after Roger Federer and Jimmy Connors. Roger Taylor and Virginia Wade were the last British man and woman to reach the quarter-finals back in 1973. Konta was cheered on by her boyfriend Jackson Wade (inset right), while Murray was supported by wife Kim (inset left).
