US president is warned he cannot renegotiate climate deal as China vows to uphold the 'hard-won' accord


NEW Donald Trump pulled the United States out of the Paris accord on climate change on Thursday afternoon in a decision that has drawn swathes of criticism from world leaders. President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker said there can be no 'backsliding' from the agreement as China, the world's bigger polluter, vowed to uphold the 'hard-won' Paris Accord. Speaking at a summit with China business leaders in Brussels Juncker said: 'China and the European Union are aligned on the need for international solutions.
