Two-bedroom terraces go on sale for just a quid (plus a £950 auction fee)

Britain's cheapest houses are being auctioned - with a guide price of just £1. The auction organisers are expecting 'huge interest' in the two-bedroom homes in Middlesbrough, North Yorkshire. The £1 guide price is staggering when compared to the average UK house price of £232,530. Pictures from the auction catalogue show the basic properties interior, which is unfurnished. Gurpreet Bassi, SDL
Auctions' partner and head of auctions, believes that the homes would be a great investment, although would need refurbishment. He said: 'These three properties offer excellent investment opportunities in the rental market and will potentially bring in attractive revenues once they have been refurbished.'
