Merkel swigs a beer as she tells UK that talks should start 'quickly'


After being pictured enjoying a beer with Mexican President Enrique Nieto in Mexico City (left) Angela Merkel (pictured) finally broke her silence on the Conservatives' General Election results. The German chancellor said the European Union still wants Brexit talks to progress 'quickly' and warned it will defend the interests of its members during the looming divorce proceedings. Having failed to secure a majority after after calling a snap election, Prime Minister Theresa May now faces having to tear up her plans over Brexit negotiations.
