Four children among victims of Portuguese forest fires that have claimed 62 lives as it's revealed people 'have been trapped and burned to death in their cars'


Little Rodrigo Rosario's body was found next to a car which his uncle had burnt to death inside. The four-year-old lived in Lisbon, approximately 200km from the fire, but he was staying with his uncle while his parents were abroad on their honeymoon. The bodies were found in Pedrógão Grande close to the source of the fire. 'Many' people died in their cars when fire swept over a road in central Portugal. The blaze broke out on Saturday afternoon in central Portugal. Portugal has had lightening storms, soaring temperatures of up to 40 degrees and wind which has fueled the flames. 'Many' people are still missing and homes have been destroyed. Some 700 firefighters have been fighting the blaze, helped by Spanish rescuers.
