Summer's here! Britain basks in glorious heatwave as a Spanish Plume drifts north - and it's going to be 90F by the weekend

Britain is about to bake in the hottest May temperatures on record as a searing 90F-plus Spanish Plume (inset) engulfs the country. Thermometers are tipped to reach the low 30Cs by the weekend as the nation turns hotter than Turkey, Greece and the Bahamas. Sun lovers are promised a scorching bank holiday weekend with early forecasts suggesting warm weather will last through June. Cloudy skies will keep temperatures in the low 20Cs today (Tuesday) and tomorrow (Wednesday) before the sun breaks through on Thursday.
