Prince William is the Queen's plus one for her first outing without her husband since Prince Philip announced his retirement from royal duties

Queen Elizabeth was joined by her grandson, Prince William, on Friday as she welcomed Burma's de facto leader Aung San Suu Kyi ahead of a private lunch at Clarence House in London, main. The outing comes after it was announced that 95-year-old Prince Philip will retire this Autumn and that 'Team Windsor' will step up to take on his duties as he prepares to end 70 years of royal engagements. Younger members of the Royal family, including Prince William and Prince Harry, will now 'rally around' and support the Queen with future events, after the Duke of Edinburgh revealed his decision to retire. The Queen was in high spirits as she greeted Aung San Suu Kyi, who was dressed in traditional robes. The Queen, donning one of her favourite bold blue dresses and pearls, was flanked by her eldest grandson, Prince William. Prince Charles, inset top, and Camilla were also seen arriving at Clarence House earlier in the afternoon and will be joining the trio at the private lunch.
