Portugal wins Eurovision after former X Factor star Lucie Jones wows audiences in battle against a man in a gorilla suit and the 'epic sax guy'


Portugal have won the Eurovision Song Contest. The country was represented by Salvador Sobral who sung Amar Pelos Dois

The Welsh songbird, 26, performed Never Give Up on You to thousands in the International Convention Centre in the Ukrainian capital of Kiev. Lucie wore a Grecian-inspired gown to sing her power ballad. The British singer is one of the favourites to win the competition, with odds of 25/1. She won praise on Twitter from fans who hope she could be the first British winner since 1997. One wrote: 'C'mon Lucy - we can at least get in the top five.'
