Doting mother: Madonna posted this snap of her 11-year-old adopted son David Banda in a robe from his native Malawi, captioned, 'Be proud of who you are and where you come from'

She adopted him as a baby from Malawi in 2006.

On Friday Madonna shared a snap of her 11-year-old son David Banda looking very grown up in robes from his homeland in southeastern Africa, as he stood beside a photo of his biological parents.And the 58-year-old pop superstar captioned it: 'Be proud of who you are and where you come from.'

The lad is wearing a wrap with a green background and dark brown and white patterns cloaked around his body and tied behind his back.

One shoulder and arm are exposed while the other shoulder and arm are completely covered up.
