Lightning strike in Missouri kills 32 cows - leaving them 'piled on top of each other' and farmer £50,000 out of pocket

Dairy farmer Jared Blackwelder made the gruesome discovery on Saturday, after a thunderstorm swept through his organic farm near Cabool, Missouri. Blackwelder said he went out at 4am for the morning milking as he does every day, and that as he was returning from the field a bolt of lightning came down close enough to feel right on top of him. 'It was so bright I couldn't hardly see,' he said. 'It just brought fire down the fences.'
