Bill Cosby arrives with his cane and without his wife for jury selection in his sex assault trial

Disgraced megastar Bill Cosby arrived at court Monday for the start of jury selection in his sexual assault trial, clutching a cane and walking arm-in-arm with an aide.

The pioneering black comedian, who is accused of drugging and assaulting a woman at his home 13 years ago, walked into the Allegheny County Courthouse, Pittsburgh, minus Camille, his wife of 53 years.

Clad in a pale yellow shirt, colorful patterned tie, a tan checkered jacket and dark sunglasses, Cosby ignored questions from reporters, although his lawyer said the star was eager to begin.

Cosby, 79, who claims to be legally blind, was seen walking arm-in-arm with an aide as he made his way into court.

There, lawyers will weigh up issues of race and gender as they try to find twelve jurors and six alternates.
