Police foil ANOTHER outrage outside Parliament after armed cops 'swarm like bees' to tackle man with 'rucksack full of knives'

Westminster is on lockdown for the second time in five weeks after a terror suspect was arrested allegedly carrying a 'backpack of knives' as he approached Parliament Square. Witnesses described how armed police tackled the bearded suspect and pinned him to the ground on Whitehall this afternoon (main picture and bottom right). Photographs from the scene show two knives lying on the pavement including a large bread knife (inset). The suspect, who has a bandaged right hand, was then taken away in cuffs (left) and held against the wall of the Treasury (top right) just yards from Downing Street. As he was arrested eyewitness Luke William said: 'Armed police in Westminster holding a man with a backpack with what appears to be knives falling out on the floor'. The arrest took place after a stop and search at 2.22pm and there were no injuries, Scotland Yard has said. London is already on high alert after Khalid Masood used a 4x4 to knock down and kill four pedestrians on Westminster Bridge before stabbing to death hero PC Keith Palmer after storming Parliament on March 22.
