White House fury as Donald Trump's tax returns are leaked showing that President made $150million and paid $38million to the government in 2005

The White House was left fuming Tuesday night as Rachel Maddow (pictured left) revealed that she had obtained Donald Trump's tax returns. In her MSNBC show, Maddow said that the 2005 document had been obtained by Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist David Cay Johnston. They showed that Trump paid just $5.3 million in federal taxes - a rate of less than 3.5 per cent - but then had to pay an additional $31 million in 'alternative minimum tax,' something Trump has said he wants to abolish.
