The Eurofighter Typhoons were scrambled last Thursday as the Jet Airways Boeing 777 (left, bottom right) was crossing over Cologne. The jets flew alongside the airliner while trying to establish contact with its pilot. Footage captured from a British Airways plane trailing behind shows the fighters flying alongside the Indian passenger jet high above the clouds. The fighters soon managed to establish contact with the Jet Airways plane, which had set off from Mumbai, and soon returned to base.
