A TWISTED mother has been jailed for nine years for taking part in a sickening plot to let a paedophile she met on a dating website rape her seven-year-old daughter.

The mum, who cannot be named for legal reasons, met 54-year-old paedophile Stuart Bailey on dating website Plenty of Fish.

The pair began exchanging text messages, which rapidly turned sexual, with Bailey describing “depraved” fantasies involving children, Cardiff Crown Court heard.

The mother met up with Bailey, from Pontypridd, South Wales, and showed him photos of her seven-year-old.

After their meeting, she then posed her child in the bath, exposing her private parts in order to take photos to send to Bailey.

She also took a photo of the girl in her school uniform with her underwear exposed, the court heard.

The mother purchased sleeping pills to sedate her daughter ahead of the planned rape.

Judge Recorder of Cardiff Eleri Rees QC, said Bailey was a “prolific” user of Plenty of Fish and regularly messaged women.

She said a “pattern emerged” with Bailey’s behaviour and that he would turn the tone of conversations towards “perverted and unlawful” sexual activity.

Judge Rees added: “The discussion, unless cut short by the women, would then escalate to encouraging them to (engage in) sexual activity with children.”

The court heard that Bailey had offered to pay the mum, who Judge Rees described as “vulnerable and gullible”, £200 or £300 in exchange for raping her daughter.

The court heard the mother bought melatonin tablets - often used to help people overcome jet lag - to sedate her daughter despite her GP having told her the tablets were unsuitable for children.

Preparing for the rape, the mother then tested the drugs out on her daughter.

Alex Greenwood, defending the mother said the woman had been identified by social services, prior to meeting Bailey, as at risk of being manipulated by men.

He added she had been “bullied, cajoled and blackmailed” by Bailey.
Bailey’s lawyer Lucy Crowther said her client was “totally ashamed of his behaviour and his actions, which he acknowledges will affect his grown-up children and his partner, who is currently standing by him”.

Both Bailey and the mother were found guilty of conspiracy to rape a girl aged under 13.

The mother was jailed for nine years, while Bailey was given a sentence of 13 years behind bars.
