Trump 'planning one-to-one summit with PUTIN' as first presidential foreign visit

GETTY adviser to Trump confirmed a meeting between the two leaders in a neutral country would go ahead

DONALD Trump is planning to meet Russian strongman Vladimir Putin in his first foreign trip as leader of the free world.

The incoming president, who will take the oath of office in the coming days, plans to meet Putin "very soon" in Iceland's capital of Reykjavik.

British officials claim a meeting with Vladimir Putin is top on the future President’s agenda, and Reykjavik is the most likely common ground for the two hard-talking world leaders.

There they are expected to discuss collaborating on deal to limit nuclear weapons and discuss the future of US-Russian relations.

A source told the Sunday Times: “The idea of a summit with Putin is definitely on the cards.
