Relief for Sir Mo Farah as US reveals Brits with dual nationality will be EXEMPT from controversial 'Muslim ban' but defiant President Trump refuses to back down on controversial policy

Somalian-born Sir Mo Farah, Britain's most successful athlete, feared he would be banned under Trump's new rules until the Foreign Office confirmed Brits with dual nationalities would not be affected. The long-distance runner (centre), who lives with his family in Oregon, is believed to be training in Ethiopia and believed he could have been cut-off from his wife and daughters. He wrote on Facebook he had been 'made a knight by the Queen' but 'made an alien' by Trump. It came as the President (left) was defiant in the face of widespread criticism and reiterated his belief that America needs to strengthen its borders, despite protests being held against the ban across the US (right). Taking to Twitter earlier today (inset) he said Christians 'had been executed in the Middle East in large numbers' and added the immigration situation in Europe 'was a horrible mess'.
