DONALD Trump has promised to thrash out a Brexit deal with Theresa May himself because his commerce secretary has not been approved yet.

He also said he would deliver power back to the people and focus on an 'America first' policy.

He said: "Now is the dawn of a new era of American independence. A rededication of the idea that the people are in charge of their destiny.

"This is a chance to deliver lasting change for our great nation - to deliver power to Americans."

He also said he would crack down on "sanctuary cities", where migrants are protected from deportation - including Philidelphia, where the 45th president of America is currently speaking.

Donald Trump also said he wished his team would be approved quicker due to Prime Minister Theresa May's visit tomorrow.

He said: "I'm meeting with the Prime Minister tomorrow, Great Britain, you know.

"I don’t have my commerce seceretary! So I’ll have to handle it myself. It’s okay."
