Workers remove The Donald's name from a Manhattan apartment complex after 'embarrassed' residents campaigned to distance themselves from the President-elect

Last month, residents of Trump Place in New York City petitioned their management company to take down the President-elect's name from the buildings. Landlord Equity Residential agreed to the residents wishes on Tuesday. On Wednesday, work crews were seen taking down the gold 'Trump Place' signs. Trump is only associated with the building through name, having licensed his name to the Hong Kong developer that constructed the buildings. The buildings were later sold and the contractual obligation to use the Trump name has since ended. The Upper West Side buildings will now be named after their street addresses instead.
