First victim of the Croydon tram crash is revealed to be a 19-year-old Crystal Palace fan as seven are confirmed dead and police probe whether driver 'fell asleep at the controls'

Teenager Dane Chinnery (left with mother Beverley) has been named as the first victim of the Croydon tram crash (top right), which killed at least seven people and left 50 people injured after derailing. Mr Chinnery, who worked as a labourer and was a huge Crystal Palace fan, was described as a 'helpful and funny' person in online tributes. Last night it emerged that terrified passengers had expressed safety concerns about the same section of track (bottom right) only days earlier when a tram sped too fast around the corner and almost came off the rails.
