Azusa, in California, is in lockdown as police hunt for the shooter after several people were gunned down on election day.
At least three other people have been injured in the
shooting – which is still unfolding
Armed police SWAT teams are in combing the area to find the suspects – and the bomb squad has reportedly arrived.
The shooter opened fire near a polling station at the junction of West Fourth Street and North Orange Avenue just after 2pm local time.
Polling stations have been closed in the area.
LA county registrar-recorder tweeted: "Voters should avoid the area and – if necessary – cast a ballot at an alternate polling location."
