A male passenger on board a Gatwick Express Service to London Victoria has been decapitated by a speeding train after he stuck his head out of the window. Police and ambulance crews (top and bottom right) rushed to Wandsworth Common station in south west London (centre) after reports suggested a man had been struck by a train. Horrified witnesses claimed the man, who has not been
identified, died after he was beheaded while looking out of a window. An air ambulance landed nearby (left) but the man was pronounced dead at the scene. A British Transport Police spokesman said: 'Medics from the local Ambulance service also attended but the man was pronounced deceased at the scene. A file will be prepared for the Coroner. The train involved was a Gatwick Express Service from Gatwick Airport to London Victoria.' A London Ambulance spokesman added: 'We sent an ambulance crew, a single responder in a car and an incident response officer to the scene, alongside London's Air Ambulance.'
