'Terrible decision that should be investigated': Team GB relay team's fury after they are DISQUALIFIED - and Olympics bosses still won't say why
Team GB's men's 4x400m relay team have been thrown out of the Olympics after an 'incredibly harsh' decision that robbed them of any chance of a medal in Rio. The quartet of Nigel Levine, Delano Williams, Matt Hudson-Smith and Martyn Rooney came home first in their semi-final and appeared to have booked their place in the final. But there was uproar minutes later as Olympic authorities apparently ruled one of the sprinters had started running outside of the zone where they handover the baton (pictured left, Matt Hudson-Smith passes the baton to Martyn Rooney in what officials are believed to have ruled was an illegal changeover). However television replays do not appear to show any of the British runners breaking the rules and athletics officials have not explained why they were disqualified.
