Several people are crushed in stampede to escape after firecrackers are let off at French resort - and holidaymakers mistake it for a terror attack

Around 40 people were injured (main and right) in the panic on Sunday night in Juan-les-Pins, which is located between Cannes and Nice. Video footage showed tables and chairs overturned on the terraces of cafes and restaurants near the beach and people screaming in the stampede. The incident came amid heightened tension in France after a string of attacks claimed by the Islamic State group.
