Violence at #BlackLivesMatter protest in London as a bus passenger is punched in the face for criticising demonstrators who blocked the roads
Scuffles broke out among demonstrators in Brixton yesterday as people gathered in the capital to protest against the killing of two black men by police officers in the United States. Hundreds of demonstrators have taken to the streets to show solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement. A fight broke out after crowds said a bus passenger made a derogatory remark towards them - leading to him being punched in the face (bottom left). Crowds packed into Windrush Square in Brixton chanting 'hands up, don't shoot' before marching towards the police station. And on Friday, protesters flooded into Oxford Street in a similar demonstration. These come as two black men were shot dead by police officers in Louisiana and Minnesota earlier this week. Five officers were then killed during a protest rally in Texas.
