Hotter than Hawaii! Britain to bask in temperatures of 32C this week as scorching Mediterranean air brings summer heatwave

So far the summer months have brought disappointment - as well as deluges of rain - but the British optimism looks set to pay off as the hottest day of the year is expected tomorrow, with parts of Britain forecast to be hotter than Hawaii by Tuesday. While June was labelled a washout that, the public can breathe finally dust off the barbecues as temperatures soar higher than Morocco and Monaco over the course of the week. Thanks to a large body of warm air drifting north from the continent - and said to have originated in north Africa - Great Britain can expect hazy days with the Mercury reaching 34C (93.2F) on Tuesday.
