Happy Birthday from Mr President! Besotted (but off-key) Obama serenades daughter Malia on her 18th birthday at Fourth of July party in White House
With a smiling Kendrick Lamar and Janelle Monae standing beside him on stage, US President Barack Obama belted out a heartfelt - yet off-key - version of Happy Birthday. 'Because it's a job of fathers to embarrass their daughters, I've got one last job,' Obama joked before breaking into song. The crowd cheered and clapped as Malia climbed onto the stage and hugged her father. Earlier today, the White House announced it was canceling the annual Fourth of July picnic on the South Lawn due to rain and scattered thunderstorms in Washington DC. Obama and the First Lady decided to move the party inside and hosted military families and other guests in White House's East Room. In his weekly address, Obama said the July 4 picnic had become 'one of my favorite traditions'. He added: 'We get to celebrate our freedoms while doing what we can to honor all those who serve and sacrifice to make that freedom possible.'
