YouTube star and The Voice U.S. contestant Christina Grimmie is shot dead by gunman who opened fire five times while she signed autographs at Florida concert then killed himself - despite her brother's brave attempt to stop him

Christina Grimmie, former star of The Voice, has been shot dead after a concert in Florida (pictured) Friday night by an unidentified gunman who then killed himself. Grimmie, 22, was attacked at around 10:30pm at the Plaza Live theatre (top and bottom right after the shooting) while she was signing autographs - the shooter was then tackled by her brother (pictured with the star inset) before turning the gun on himself, according to witnesses. She was taken to hospital in a critical condition but was later confirmed by her publicist. The gunman died at the scene. Grimmie came third in The Voice in 2014.
