West Ham's emotional farewell to Upton Park took an ugly turn when Manchester United's team coach was targeted by Hammers supporters hurling bottles on its way to the ground (pictured main and bottom right). Thousands of fans filled the streets around the Boleyn Ground, but after joyous
scenes had greeted Slaven Bilic's side, the mood turned unsavoury when the visitors' coach was bottled as it wound onto Green Street, smashing the outer glass on the United coach (inset left, defender Chris Smalling taking a photo of the damage with his mobile phone). The match was delayed until 8.30pm after the visitors eventually arrived at the stadium just 35 minutes before the original 7.45pm kick-off, and United captain Wayne Rooney (inset right) called on his players to remain focused on the job. Supporters were pictured fleeing from the melee (top right).
