Secret Service launches investigation after Donald Trump's long-term butler calls for Barack Obama to be killed
© Provided by The Telegraph Donald Trump has disowned his long-time butler who called for President Barack Obama to be killed and for a US city that had been the site of protests to be "carpet bombed".
Anthony Senecal was Mr Trump's personal butler for nearly two decades, and says he is still employed at the property mogul's Mar a Lago resort in Florida as the property's unofficial historian.
On Wednesday he took to Facebook to support Mr Trump, and denounce the billionaire's political opponents .
In the rambling post first reported by Mother Jones, the news magazine, Mr Senecal suggested that Hillary Clinton was a murderer and that Mr Obama should be assassinated.
"To all my friends on FB, just a short note to you on our pus headed 'president,' he wrote. "This character who I refer to as zero (0) should have been taken out by our military and shot as an enemy agent in his first term!!!!! Instead he still remains in office doing every thing he can to gut the America we all know and love!!!!"

Those comments have prompted an investigation from the Secret Service, and a swift disavowel from the Trump campaign.
In earlier posts to Facebook, Mr Senecal said that Mr Obama - referred to in turn as a "Kenyan fraud" and the leader of the Muslim Brotherhood - should be "hung for treason", and dragged through the streets.
He also said Mrs Clinton should be "in prison awaiting hanging", and signed a petition calling for Beyonce and Jay Z to be imprisoned for "providing material support for terrorism".
During the riots in Ferguson Missouri over the killing of an unarmed black man by police, he called for the city to be "removed".
"Move the sane people out during the day and carpet bomb the city from the face of the Earth at night," he wrote. "If you blow up the protesters, oh well!!! Case Closed!!!"

The Trump campaign quickly moved to distance themselves from Mr Senecal after his controversial statements emerged.
"We totally and completely disavow the horrible statements made by him regarding the president," a spokesperson said, according to ABC News.
The campaign also said that Mr Senecal had not worked at Mar a Lago for many years, though he says he has stayed on after stepping down as butler to give tours and work as an historian.
Just two months ago Mr Senecal was profiled in the New York Times, describing his close relationship with the presidential candidate and discussing everything from how Mr Trump liked his steaks to how he did his hair.
