Pictured: Alton Towers crash survivor RETURNS to the Smiler ride as part of her therapy to get over the tragedy which cost her a leg

Alton Towers crash victim Vicky Balch has returned to the theme park to visit the £18million rollercoaster which smashed into another carriage last year, causing her to lose her right leg. The former dancer visited the Staffordshire-based theme park earlier this month (pictured left with her mother Karen) as part of her ongoing therapy treatment to cope with the devastating injuries she received in the horror crash (inset). The 20-year-old was one of five people to be seriously injured when one carriage on the Smiler ride crashed into a stationary cart last June, with fellow ride-goer Leah Washington, 19, also having her leg amputated. Miss Balch returned to the park with her mother Karen as part of her ongoing treatment. She was seen arriving at the park in a black car, driven by her mother (centre), before making her way across the car park - with her new £70,000 prosthetic limb on show. Following the visit, believed to be to the site of the horror crash, she was helped back into the family's vehicle (right).
