Not a visitor in sight: Egypt's tourism industry goes into freefall as fear of terror attacks leaves the Pyramids deserted and turns Sharm El Sheikh into a ghost town


The number of tourists travelling to Egypt has fallen off a cliff in recent months, as these images testify. The crowds of tourists who once visited The Pyramids at Giza, on the outskirts of Cairo, have vanished (pictured). Although the cause of last week's EgyptAir crash is still unknown, many tourists have written the country off as too dangerous. Portugal and Spain are among the countries who have benefited at its expense.
