Mother accused of covering up the death of her daughter, 6, claims father on trial for killing her in a violent rage was 'completely devoted to the little girl'

Jennie Grey, 36, pictured left arriving at court today, has given evidence at the trial of her partner Ben Butler, who is accused of murdering their six-year-old daughter Ellie (pictured inset as a family) at their home in Sutton, south London, in 2013. Gray told the jury Butler was a 'completely devoted' father who helped her when they lost custody of their daughter. Butler denies murder and cruelty. Gray, 36, denies child cruelty but has admitted perverting the course of justice.
