'Absolute piece of excrement': Exasperated mother lists her 'satanic' Mini Cooper on eBay for 99p after it repeatedly breaks down - only for it to become an unlikely hit

Rachel Young (left), 40, had only owned the 2004 Mini Cooper S (top right) for 12 hours when it 'blew up' as she drove to work from her home in Darlington, County Durham, two months ago. Since then, it has been in and out of the garage six times, costing her £1,600 in repairs with half of its parts being replaced - and she listed it on eBay complete with a breakdown history. But the listing (bottom right), which includes the declaration 'if you want to have it, it's awful', has attracted more than 150,000 views in four days and now stands at £6,900 following 70 bids. Miss Young has had more than 200 messages about the car, and has even received a marriage proposal from an interested buyer, as well as 'more rude propositions' from other people.
