Did bomber brothers work as cleaners at Brussels Airport? Prosecutors probe claims jihadis took jobs that gave them intimate knowledge of the terminal they destroyed
The uncle of two bomber brothers claimed they worked at the Brussels airport they targeted. Ibrahim (bottom right) and Khalid (top right) el-Bakraoui would have gained intimate knowledge of the terminal destroyed in Tuesday's carnage - and should have undergone security checks. The uncle's claims add to the list of bungled chances to prevent the attacks, in which the brothers and accomplices killed 31 and wounded 270 with bombs at the airport and on a Metro train. It also emerged last night that the brothers had been on US terror watchlists.
